When people ask me what I do, I say I’m a product designer…but I’m not.

I’m an explorer.

I don’t create designs; I discover them by seeking patterns, connections and universal truths.

My life goal is to learn, understand, look under rocks, observe, travel, get lost, smell, run, fall down and otherwise experience the world. I'm motivated by the unknown, and I thrive in environments where the challenges are unfamiliar, difficult and unstructured.

My professional goal is to be a lens that focuses disparate disciplines into transcendent solutions. My natural inclination is toward systems and hence strategy. Even the most simple things are complex and embracing opposing perspectives is essential to crafting meaningful solutions.

You'll also notice that I don't write in the third person. I think it's ridiculous. It's convention, but I'm not really the type to follow ridiculous conventions.

Cheers,

Jason
